Role: Communication Designer
Luzkita is a master artisan of embroidery and needlework. In 2016 she launched her first youtube channel where she have been sharing tutorials that are seen by women all around the world.
Luzkita’s channel is all about embroidery. It was born to share projects, and with time it has evolved into teaching different levels of the technique, from the basis to specific needlework and dressmaking tips. The communication project has been focused on creating a strong character throughout the various platforms where Luzkita interacts with her community. The channel has already earned Youtube’s Silver Button.
Beyond all the media content, this project has been a continuous team experiment that has brought to life strategies and artifacts that enhance the experience of learning the embroidery technique.
Animated intro 2020: Moodboard
For the channel aniversary in May 2020, we launched a new animated intro clip. I made a sequence introducing the character surrounded by a series of lively characters creating the effect of a garden full of easter eggs. The idea is to delight viewers by introducing different detials on different points of the screen, whenever they watch a video and focus in different parts of the animation they will find a new lovely character.
While the main character is an illustration of the master artisan, the animals and flowers take inspiration from different projects done in the channel.
The entire concept and creation of the animation was my responsability. I preared the early storyboards, moodboards, illustrated all the characters, prepared the animation and selected the music.

The channel introduced a series of sewing tutorials, including instructions on how to build patterns from scracth in different sizes. The channel is also interacting with the community offline. Many susbcribers send request to acquire patterns and materials to develop their projects at home.
I designed a packaging kit including a wrapping paper, stickers, stamp and a thank you postcard. The stamp has become the signature for the patterns designed by the artisan during her video-tutorials.
On the other hand the master artisan wanted to have a special card to give to people when she meet them around the city and local crafts shops. The prints set included a postcard with contact details.
